Beat the Heat when Exercising Outside

She is beating the heat!

Are you finding that you’re exercising less and less outside because the weather is so hot? Although summer weather is beautiful, it can deter a lot of us from working out outside. However, there are ways that you can still beat the heat outside and exercise. For instance, I know you’ve heard millions of times that you should drink water when you exercise outside. You probably hear it so much because that’s how important the task really is. Even if you don’t feel like you’re thirsty, you should still drink 8 ounces or more of water each hour you’re outside. Plus, if you tend to sweat a lot, you should drink even more water. Drinking a lot of water will also help in improving your body’s cooling mechanisms. In addition, you should make sure that you use care when getting your body acclimated to the weather. If you run in the midday when it’s the hottest, keep your runs to around 30 minutes in the beginning. You can increase your outside workouts gradually over time.
